Use Athean where you already work
Athean Copilot is the Athean Chrome extension. It adds contact context and useful actions to the inbox and prospecting pages you already use, and helps Athean open the right browser pages during your daily workflow.
- In Gmail: write with snippets, choose email tracking, set a reminder if nobody replies, and review Athean contact context beside a conversation. Follow Use Athean in Gmail.
- In LinkedIn and Sales Navigator: review available Athean details while prospecting and capture individual profiles or contacts from Sales Navigator results. Follow Use Athean in LinkedIn & Sales Navigator.
- While calling or working through tasks: let configured Athean actions open a contact's LinkedIn profile or a company's website. See Use it with calling and Task flow.
Install it in the Chrome profile where you use Athean, then start with the workflow you need.
1. Install the extension and sign in
- In your work Chrome profile, open Athean Copilot in the Chrome Web Store.
- Select Add to Chrome and confirm Add extension in Chrome's installation prompt.
- Open Athean in the same Chrome profile and sign in to your workspace.
- Reload any Athean, Gmail, or LinkedIn tabs that were already open so they can use the newly installed extension.
- Open Chrome's Extensions menu using the puzzle-piece icon beside the address bar, then select the pin beside Athean Copilot to keep it in the toolbar.
If Chrome says the extension is already installed, check that it is enabled in Manage extensions, then continue with the same-profile sign-in and tab refresh.
2. Check the connections your workflow needs
Signing in to Athean lets the extension use your Athean workspace. Your personal Google and LinkedIn connections are managed in Settings → Integrations and support the corresponding email and LinkedIn workflows.
- For Gmail: check your work Google connection and follow the Gmail setup steps. You can use the Gmail workflow without connecting LinkedIn.
- For LinkedIn and Sales Navigator: connect the intended LinkedIn account. Follow the Athean setup panel to open LinkedIn, then select Connect in the Link LinkedIn to Athean panel. Sign in to LinkedIn first if the panel asks you to.
Use Connect your tools for the full connection workflow. Installing the extension is one part of setup; check each channel's connection before using actions that depend on it.
3. Open the tools on a supported page
| Where you are working | What to open and check |
|---|---|
| Gmail | Open a conversation and select Athean's A icon in the vertical side panel at Gmail's right edge. Start a new message or reply to find the document, eye, and bell icons in the compose toolbar. Hover over them to identify Insert snippet, email tracking, and the no-reply reminder. Continue with the Gmail guide. |
| LinkedIn or Sales Navigator | Open an individual profile, a Sales Navigator people search, or a Sales Navigator lead list. If the panel is minimized, select the Athean logo tab halfway down the page's right edge; its hover label is Open Copilot. See supported prospecting pages. |
The tools appear within the supported page. In Gmail, use the side-panel icon and compose controls. In LinkedIn, use the Athean tab; the panel remembers whether you left it open or minimized.
You are ready when the relevant controls appear and the panel can load your Athean information. A Gmail conversation needs a matching Athean contact to show that person's record. Capturing a LinkedIn profile continues in Athean's import review; check the result of that workflow there.
Use it with calling and Task flow
The extension also connects Athean to browser actions you enable for your work:
- Calling: Open LinkedIn on dial and Open company website on dial bring relevant pages into your calling workflow when the necessary profile or website information is available. Configure these in Dialer settings and call preferences.
- Task flow: the option to automatically open a LinkedIn profile brings up the contact's profile for supported LinkedIn tasks. Follow Task flow to prepare your queue and work through each task.
Keep Athean signed in and the extension enabled in that Chrome profile. Opening a page gives you context for the next step; complete and verify the call or task using its controls in Athean.
When the extension needs attention
- The controls are missing: check Chrome's Manage extensions for an enabled Athean Copilot. Confirm you are using the Chrome profile where it is installed, then reload the affected page. In Gmail, open a conversation or a fresh compose window to check the relevant tools.
- Athean still asks you to install the extension: refresh the Athean tab after installation or re-enabling it. Confirm the app and extension are in the same Chrome profile.
- The panel asks you to log in, or Gmail tracking is paused: open Athean and sign in. Use Re-check Login when offered in the panel, or reload the affected page. In Gmail, Log in to Athean opens the sign-in destination.
- A site cannot use the extension: open the extension's Details in Chrome's extension manager and check its site access for the Athean, Gmail, or LinkedIn site you are using. If your organization manages that access, ask your administrator to enable the required site, then reload it.
- LinkedIn says the page is unsupported: use an individual LinkedIn or Sales Navigator profile, a Sales Navigator people search, or a Sales Navigator lead list. See the supported-page reference.
- A connected channel needs attention: check Settings → Integrations and follow the reconnect prompt for that channel. Reconnecting LinkedIn and signing back in to Athean address different parts of the workflow.
If the problem continues, contact support with the affected site, the action you tried, and the message shown.
