Understand what needs your attention
Tasks are things you need to do. They collect your next actions, including steps created by sequences. Account and contact information provide the context for doing the work well.
Signals are things you need to know. Review them alongside your tasks to understand what deserves attention and decide how to prioritize your day.
Create follow-up tasks from your contacts or signals
Turn research, a relevant signal, or a customer commitment into work with a due date. Create a general task for a next step such as preparing a proposal, or call tasks for the contacts you want to reach in your next calling session.
- Open Find contacts, a contact list, or Signals. Select the contacts or signals you want to follow up on.
- Select Create task, then choose Create general task or Create call task. Call tasks require a contact; account-only signals are left out of a call-task batch.
- Enter a clear title, review the due date and time, and add notes explaining the next action. For example, use “Call about Acme's expansion” and include the research or commitment to follow up on.
- Check the number in Create N tasks or Create N call tasks, then select it. Each included contact or signal gets its own task, assigned to you by default.
- Read the creation result, then open Tasks and check the new tasks, their due dates, and account or contact context.
For a calling session, filter and sort those call tasks, then follow Task flow and Power dialing. Creating the tasks records the planned work; you complete it in the task's workflow.
If creation is unavailable, check that you selected eligible records and that call tasks have contacts. Read any validation message for the title or due date. A batch can succeed only in part: check the reported count and existing tasks before retrying the failed items.
Work through your queue
- Open Tasks from the sidebar and review the active filters and selected view.
- Choose a task and read its instructions. Review the contact and account activity before taking action.
- Complete the work using the relevant calling, email, LinkedIn, or other task controls.
- Record the outcome and any useful notes. Complete the task when the work is finished, or use the available snooze or skip action when appropriate.
- Continue to the next task and check its context before acting.
Task actions and connected channels vary with the task type and your organization's setup. Follow the task's status rather than assuming that opening it completes the work.
Work in Task flow
Use Task flow when you want to work through a batch with the contact and account context beside each task. Filter and sort the table, select the rows you want, then choose Start with N tasks. With no selection, the batch uses eligible tasks on the current page.
The flow brings up the appropriate calling, email, LinkedIn, or completion controls. Complete finished work, snooze work you will revisit, or skip work that no longer needs to happen. The progress count includes all three outcomes.
See Dialer and call settings for call setup and wrap-up, and Email for reviewing messages, sending later, and understanding open tracking.
When expected work is missing
Check the task filters, selected view, assignee, and timing. If the task comes from a sequence, review that contact's sequence status and whether it is waiting on approval or an earlier step.
Keep connection issues and task progress separate: reconnecting a tool restores access to that channel, but you should still check the affected task or sequence before continuing.
