Analyze sequence performance

See which sequences produce replies and meetings, understand the counts, and find the next improvement.

Open the performance view

Start with a question: which sequence is generating conversations, where is outreach slowing down, or how are results changing across your team?

  1. Open Sequences and select a sequence. Its Performance section summarizes lifetime results: Total contacts, Replied, Meetings, Open rate, Users, and Top persona.
  2. Select View full performance to open the dashboard with that sequence selected.
  3. For a broader view, open Dashboards → Activity → Sequences directly.

The sequence page is a lifetime summary. Use the full dashboard when you want to choose a date range, narrow the team, or inspect the activity behind a result.

Choose the sequences, people, and period

  1. Set the date range in the dashboard header.
  2. Use People to select individuals or a team. On a smaller screen, open Filters to reach the header controls.
  3. Under Filter by, search by sequence name or user and select the sequences you want to include. Choose one sequence to understand its results; choose several to review their combined activity.

The date range selects when sequences started. The results include activity from those sequences through today, even when a reply or meeting happens after the selected period. A sequence started last month can therefore gain replies this month in the same report.

To compare sequences, review each with the same people and date filters. Check the number of starts and give each group a similar amount of time to produce results before judging a rate.

Read activity and outcomes together

Use At a glance for sequences started, email replies, and meetings booked. Then read the channel sections to understand how those outcomes were produced.

  • Sequences started counts individual sequence runs started during the period. It is different from the number of sequence templates in your library or emails sent.
  • Email activity shows Sent, Tracked, Opened, and Replied. Sent counts emails sent; tracked is the subset where Athean can measure opens. Open rate uses tracked emails, while reply rate uses sent emails. Automated opens, automated replies, and bounces are excluded from their respective engagement counts.
  • Call activity separates recorded calls, calls marked with a connected disposition, and conversations with a connected result lasting at least 60 seconds. Call tasks done can also include calls made outside Athean, so completed tasks and recorded calls can differ.
  • LinkedIn activity shows completed steps and matched replies. Reply rate uses reply-eligible outreach; it does not use every LinkedIn action as its denominator.
  • Meetings booked reports bookings attributed to the selected sequence runs. Read it alongside replies and activity volume when evaluating outcomes.

The email-reply percentage in At a glance compares replied emails with sequence starts. It can exceed 100% when a sequence receives replies to several emails; the email activity reply rate answers a different question.

Hover the information notes for metric definitions. A dash or Data unavailable means the metric is unavailable, rather than a measured zero.

Inspect progress and the underlying work

Sequence mix separates Operator and Template runs, plus Active, Paused, and Completed states. Select a tile or Sequences started to inspect the matching sequence records.

Use Per-rep breakdown to compare activity and outcomes across people, then select a rep to investigate their results. The rep view includes a Selected sequences table.

Read Tasks completed and Tasks open alongside sequence status. Tasks open is the current backlog for sequences started in your selected period. A completed sequence describes its progress; review replies and meetings separately to understand the outcome.

Turn the results into a focused change

  • Starts are healthy but activity is low: inspect paused sequences and open tasks, then check the sequence's schedule and required actions.
  • Activity is high but replies are low: review the audience, message relevance, and channel mix. Use the sequence's Top persona as context for who has received it.
  • Replies are healthy but meetings are low: review the responses and follow-through before changing the opening message.

Return to the sequence to review its steps and make a focused improvement. Compare the next group of starts using consistent filters and enough time for follow-up. In Marketplace, reply and meeting rates can help you find other sequences to inspect; check their contact volume and audience before applying the same approach.
